The photographs and illustrations for the Macbeth play also give a visual background to the scenes in the play, and the notes give additional information on both words and phrases.
The section of the CD ROM on the life of William Shakespeare is illustrated with photographs of the houses that surrounded his and his family’s life in Stratford on Avon and area. There are aerial photographs, as well as interior and exterior photographs of the houses from the ground (by kind permission of the "The Birthplace Trust"). They are supplemented with drawings of Stratford on Avon from the 19th Century.
Various illustrations are also included to show life in Elizabethan times. In addition, there are aerial photographs of the reconstructed Globe Theatre, and again illustrations from the 19th century of the theatre and life in London. All the photographs and illustrations are inserted in the text to give a complete picture of his life in that period. There are additional notes to explain the photographs from hot spots on the pictures.

The Macbeth play has been reproduced as text in full with photographs to highlight the area for each scene. There are also engravings from the 19th century to add interest and reality to the play, and notes on the phrases and words used in the play by eminent authorities from the Victorian era, Charles and Mary Cowden-Clarke.
